Tuna Pasta Bake

A great family favourite, really cheap and easy to make.

Serves:  4
Price per serving: 56p
  • 300g Pasta Shells
  • 1 Onion (finely diced)
  • 1 Clove of Garlic (crushed or fine chopped)
  • Tin of 160g Tuna (drained)
  • 400g Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Mixed Herbs
  • 100g Cheddar (grated)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil

    1.  Boil the pasta in slightly salty water until cooked, drain and set to one side.
    2.  Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan oven/gas mark 4.
    3.  Heat the vegetable oil and fry the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes. Then add the tuna and heat through, stirring frequently.
    4.  Next add the tinned tomatoes and mixed herbs, stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
    5.  Add the pasta to sauce and stir well, then transfer to a oven proof dish. Top with the grated cheese and bake in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes until the cheese is golden.
